Community Development Services at the City of Idaho Falls
Caitlin Long is a Planner with the City of Idaho Falls. She focuses on Long Range and Historic Preservation and is the staff liaison with the City’s Historic Preservation Commission. She has been with the City since 2021, where she has done Current Planning, GIS, Ordinance Amendments, Comprehensive Planning, working with the Downtown Development Corporation (IFDDC) and helping with the development and growth of the City. Caitlin is a Certified Planner (AICP) with the American Planning Association. She has also worked for a large homebuilder/developer in the Midwest, spent time as a Historic Specialist in Stanley, Idaho, and has done a community assessment with NeighborWorks Pocatello.
She has a Bachelors of Art in History and Political Science (2011) and a Masters of Public Administration with an Environmental focus (2014), both from Idaho State University. She enjoys exploring the built environment of Idaho Falls, always looking for a great used bookstore, hidden gems in the thriving downtown, walking our diverse neighborhoods with her two dogs, and traveling with her husband.
